Algorithm Map

I created a map that abstractly describes the algorithm of my device. This map will function more as a blueprint for my device, where I’ll attempt to create the functionality said in the map. Its also important to notate that this map was created without technical considerations, it just contains functionalities I would like to add to the device, so I’m not even sure if I’ll have the skills to create it.

The map goes from the top being the generate button, to the bottom that is the output of the device. When the button is clicked a grain manipulator gets randomly selected, these are the nodes connected with the red line. Those nodes are the main functionalities I would like the device to have, each will have a very different timbral element to it. Then those nodes go to the grain engine that will generate the sound itself. After the engine it goes to a sequencer that depending in the position of the Drone/Percussion slider creates notes. This sequencer will be generative and self evolving. Then finally it will go to the output.

I’m not sure if this is going to be the actual structure of my patch, but it was a good exercise to create this map to give me an idea of what functions I want to include in it. As well being able to see it visually helps me plan the device better. I’ll update this map as the development of the device progresses.
